Serving as a one-man band, Matthew GORMLY completed two days of intense production for the upcoming E-sport event, the Coke Powerlevel Cup. Pairing a celebrity with a leading gamer, the videos showcased the learning curve our semi-novice celebs faced in the lead-up to the event.
The first film featured recording artist Eric Saade paired with pro-gamer zAAz, with the production returning a few days later to film popular singer Ace Wilder with the legendary AdmiralBulldog.
Production days were intense, given the multi-camera, lighting and audio requirements, with a minimal crew of a director and a cameraman, and overseen by the agency creative team. The greatest challenge came with the installed lighting of the gaming location. Lit extensively with green LED strips, the production was assured that the lighting colour could be shifted to whatever was desired. Unfortunately, on the day the lighting could not be shifted from the green - a colour strongly associated with a competitor's carbonated beverage. With a meager supply of magic red gel in Travmatt's lighting kit, and the disabling of all lights in the vicinity, the look was achieved.
Originated on the Canon C300, with additional GoPro & Canon 5D cameras. All equipment, including LED & fresnel lighting, and Lectrosonics audio equipment, supplied by Travelling Matt. Multiple films published to various platforms.
